Chi Fest Wrapup/Solo Beatles Survey Results

What a week it was in Chicago for Beatles Fans. First, there was Paul’s first ever concerts at Wrigley Field, Sun (7/31) and Mon (8/1). He is absolutely incredible and amazing. He is in his finest form and it is mind boggling. It was a truly magical experience to watch him perform for almost three hours. For all of you who were there on the Monday night, you got to see the plane and FEST banner flying around Wrigley before the concert. Paul looked up, saw the plane and read the banner during his sound check. After reading it he said, “We’ll be there!”. Beatles week culminated at our 35th Anniversary FEST FOR BEATLES FANS 2011-CHICAGO. What a super combination of special musical guests – PETER ASHER, JOEY MOLLAND, HENRY McCULLOUGH & MARK HUDSON. The Sunday Musicians’ Forum featured all our guests together and it was a very special hour. Live music was everywhere. LIVERPOOL performed great concerts and the jams were better than ever. Peter’s Musical Memoir shows with his own band were highlights each afternoon. The Winner of the Battle of the Beatles Bands was Mr. Mustard, from the Detroit area. Hundreds of photos from the FEST can be found on our facebook page.

A big congratulations to Susan Hoos, the winner of the Las Vegas Beatles Getaway. With thousands of entries from all across the states, Susan was actually in the Rosemont Ballroom, when we announced the winner, on Sunday, August 7th. It was a very exciting moment as she screemed and rushed towards the stage. Our Social Media Director, Michelle Lapidos was there to greet her and later present her with the certificate. The winners of the giveaway from the NY METRO FEST in March were also in attendance and told us what a wonderful time they had. They went for their anniversary and said they were treated very specially. They also thought The Beatles Love: Cirque du Soleil was amazing and recommends it to all Beatles fans. We thank Cirque du Soleil for providing these getaways for this, their fifth anniversary year of the Love show.

  1. This year’s 35th Chicago fest had been a blast! I’m looking to see all my Chicago fest friends next year August 10th-12th at the Hyatt Regency O Hare. Next year’s fest will be a coincidence
since me and the shades will be there the same week and it’ll be a gift for my 30th birthday and Martin’s mother Nina Pearl will be there for her birthday so for them for Nina Pearl’s birthday
we’re playing “Your Mother Should Know” for her. If things work and plan out, I could have a 55th anniversary celebration for the the birth of the Beatles, since it’s a gift for my 30th birthday I’m going there with dad, Gabe and Ben.

  2. Simply as Mark said above it was “an amazing week”. What a conert at Wrigley and what a Fest! Can’t wait for 2012 already. Thanks to all the “Fest” people for a job well done, it was a magical weekend at the Hyatt!

  3. Just a few brief comments. I was at the Chicago Fest for 2011 and enjoyed it so much!!! It was my sixth one and I’m from Michigan. I look forward to the Fest every year and find it extraordinary. The guests you invite are just amazing and the whole atmosphere is really beyond words. I’ll keep coming as long as you continue to put on the Fests for us Beatles fans. Thank you for all that you do. “A Splended Time Is Guaranteed For All” ia truly an understatement.

  4. The Fest is truely a wonderful experience. I have seen nothing but love & friendship there, and the music is just awesome. It’s my little utopia – I love every minute of it. And when I feel the need to sing, I join the kids in the lobby & sing my heart out! Thank you Mark – job well done!
