October 1st – Beatles Day – Come Together

abbeyIt is 1964 all over again! The Beatles have 9 of the Top 10 CDs and 16 of the Top 25 on Billboard’s Top Pop Catalog Chart. Not only that, The Remastered Stereo Set entered Billboard’s Top 200 at Number 15 and the Mono Set at #40. If they counted the sets as sales time number of CDs in the Set, then both would have been in the Top 10 and the Stereo would have been #1 or 2!!! On the eve of the 40th Anniversary of the release of Abbey Road (Oct. 1, 1969), an astonishing 89,000 copies were sold last week, putting it at Number One! The Beatles now have a realistic chance of becoming the biggest selling artist of this DECADE! – 40 years after the breakup!!!

  4. It is so awesome to find out just how many Beatle freaks there still are around the world. I am excited about this link to so many great Beatles “stuff”!!

  5. I will be wearing my 1966 Beatles charm around my neck since it is a work day. I hope there is a lot of participation.

  6. October 1st was my grandpa’s birthday. He would be 87 if he were still alive. He liked the Beatles, especially “Something”, “Here Comes The Sun”, “And I Love Her”, and “Yesterday.” I will wear my black beatles t-shirt–the one with photos of “A Hard Day’s Night” to remember him–and of course the fab four!

  7. Aaaaa! Coolio, but i wish i’d known about it sooner! I only hve one beatles shirt that i wore all too recently. Aw heck, i’ll wear it again >:P

  8. hello Fest. Enjoyed being a dealer again for the 2nd year in a row. have met so many wonderful people from all over the globe and the U.S. We saw Paul twice at Fenway park in Boston and he
waved to us from his car when he entered on the first night. My wife and I were so excited. anyway, it would be great to have
George Martin as a guest or Maybe Olivia and Dhani next year at the fest in New Jersey, just a thought. anyway thanks for a wonderful year and see you in March 2010. Shelley and Paul.

  9. Got my box set of stereo Brit CDs – I’m amazed at the quality, the info, the music. I never knew about these (I was only a US buyer).
My goodness, Koo Koo KaChoob – I’m so happy to have received the first production samples. Also got the Shirt (awesome and best of all a pair of Lennon Glasses which I have had my optician put my R/x in them so I can wear the ALL the time! Even ordered another pair that will remain unopened as a collector’s item one day. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen. Now the US albums? Maybe the Solo Years of all Four? Come to Fla Fest!
    Love Love Love

  10. Mark; Why is there not a notice on The Fest site for Lucy Vodden, who sadly, passed away almost two weeks ago?

  11. I saw the two disks of Beatles Anthology, LOL(:! All I have to say is 1960’s- 2009- I’m still tapping my foot, this wil be in my heart for a long, long time, and I know some others may agree. PEACE.

  12. I just saw the listing for October first as Beatles day and was overwhelmed. My youngest sister is the one who started us all on “The Fest for Beatle Fans”. She past away six years ago and she is probably giggling up in heaven. You see October first is her birthday.

  13. In celebration of this ‘Rock your Beatles’ day, I got the chance to play ‘Come Together’ on The Beatles: Rock Band and put on the entire Abbey Road record album on my record player wearing my Beatlefest 35 t-shirt and I wish Sally Lapidos, Mark’s mother happy birthday
