  • Klaus returns to the New York Metro FEST for the first time in 15 years! He led our 50th anniversary celebration of Revolver in Chicago this past August.

Klaus first met The Beatles in Hamburg in 1960. He was so blown away by their music that he brought his girlfriend, Astrid Kirchherr, to see and hear what excited him. Their friendship solidified and that friendship continues to this day. In 1966, John asked Klaus to design the cover for their next album. The cover has become iconic and won Klaus a Grammy for Best Album Cover of the year for Revolver.

As a musician, Klaus was the bass player with the Manfred Mann Band. He also recorded with George (All Things Must Pass, Living in the Material World), John (Instant Karma single, Imagine LP) and Ringo (Ringo LP, where he also created the booklet artwork). When John was asked to perform in concert in Toronto in 1969, he invited Klaus to join him. When George put his band together for the Bangla Desh concert in 1971, he chose Klaus.

At the Chicago Fest this past August, Klaus launched his brand new graphic novel about the creation of Revolver, which he will be discussing at the Fest and signing in hisĀ Art Exhibition room.
