BRENDAN HUNT is an award-winning actor, screenwriter and playwright living in Los Angeles, best known for co-creating the international hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso along with Jason Sudeikis, Joe Kelly and Bill Lawrence. He is also an ensemble member for the show, portraying Ted’s trusty assistant, Coach Beard.
In its first two seasons, the show won consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, a Peabody Award and many others.
Brendan’s newest project is the autobiographical solo stage work The Movement You Need, which just completed a sold-out run at the Soho Playhouse in Manhattan. The show explores his complicated relationship with his alcoholic single mom, and the one avenue they had that was easy and in concord — a mutual love of The Beatles.
Brendan will be joining us on Saturday, August 10th as we welcome him to our stage for the first time (though he first attended the Chicago FEST almost 40 years ago!). His talk will be followed by a signing session in the Grand Ballroom Foyer.
