Jim Berkenstadt is the author of “Mysteries in the Music: Case Closed.” His last book, The Beatle Who Vanished, took a look at the post-Beatles life of drummer Jimmie Nicol, who sat in for Ringo Starr for 13 days when Ringo was ill in 1964. When Ringo returned, Jimmie Nicol receded into the night. Berkenstadt’s book examines exactly what happened to Nicol in the years after his brush with fame.
