Alan WhiteDrummer: John Lennon, George Harrison, YES
Drummer: John Lennon, George Harrison, YES
Alan is joining us for the very first time. When John Lennon agreed to perform at the Toronto Rock & Roll Festival in Sept, 1969, he put a band together overnight that included Eric Clapton, Klaus Voormann, Yoko, and Alan White (on Drums). John had called this 20-year-old he had heard the night before and invited Alan. He didn’t believe it was John initially. But it was and it was a game changer. They had their only rehearsal on the plane ride from London. The results can be heard on the Live Peace in Toronto Album. Alan joined YES in 1972 and they became one of the premiere Prog rock bands of the 1970s. YES was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame just last year. Alan also played on the single Instant Karma and the Imagine and George’s All Things Must Pass albums. Alan also worked with Denny Laine (pre Wings) and his band Balls for several months.
Denny LaineFormerly of Wings
Formerly of Wings
Denny last joined us as an announced guest nine years ago. He was the only member of Wings (except the McCartneys) from its beginning to the end. With Paul, Denny co-wrote Wings’ biggest U.K. hit Mull of Kintyre. (and also Deliver Your Children). Denny also worked with Paul on Tug of War and Pipes of Peace after Wings disbanded. He was also a founding member of the Moody Blues. Denny also sings backing vocals with Paul & Linda on George’s All Those Years Ago. We congratulate Denny on finally being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a founding member of The Moody Blues. Denny sang that soulful lead on Go Now, which became a #1 song and launched their career. Denny and his former band mates Laurence Juber and Steve Holley are doing a 40th Anniversary salute to Wings' final album, Back To The Egg on Saturday night.
Laurence JuberIn Concert, Formerly of Wings
In Concert, Formerly of Wings
LAURENCE JUBER premiered his most recent CD of Beatles tunes, called LJ Can’t Stop Playing The Beatles at the NY METRO FEST. This is his third volume and also released one CD of Wings songs. He is performing solo acoustic concerts on both Sat and Sun, and you don’t want to miss them. LJ will be part of the Grand Jam with LIVERPOOL & Mark Rivera. Laurence is one of our all time favorite guests, and you will hear why once he picks up his guitar and plays. His first project in the Beatles world was as a session musician with Cleo Laine, produced by George Martin. Laurence has also worked extensively with Al Stewart.

Ringo Starr's Music Director, Legendary Sax Player
Mark is Ringo’s musical director and one of the top sax players in the business. Mark’s first solo album, Common Bond, continues to receive accolades. Ringo and Billy Joel, whose band Mark has been part of for decades, both play on the album! Mark was the one who arranged the ‘secret’ 70th birthday surprise for Ringo in 2010, when Paul came out and performed Birthday at Radio City Music Hall. It was a total surprise to Ringo who ran out and almost leapt onto his kit to join in with his former bandmate. A moment to remember. Mark will be speaking, joining Liverpool during the concert, and adding his amazing talents as the top horn player he is.
Jack DouglasLegendary Producer
With 40 Gold and Platinum records to his name, legendary producer/engineer Jack Douglas has carved a legacy five decades deep in the music world. An integral component of many pivotal recordings, Douglas has worked with a wealth of extraordinary talent – from Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, and The Who, to Patti Smith, Supertramp, Blue Öyster Cult, and The New York Dolls, to name a few. Working his way up from janitor to engineer at the famed Record Plant studios, Douglas earned the rare opportunity to work with John Lennon. Serving as engineer on his iconic masterpiece Imagine, Douglas played a key role in Lennon’s return to the business after a six year absence. This cemented a bond that would lead to Douglas producing Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Double Fantasy album, for which he won a Grammy Award for Album Of The Year. Douglas was also a card-carrying member of the original Hollywood Vampires, often driving the getaway car with John in the backseat during his “gone for a newspaper” daze in LA.They continued to work together diligently, initializing sessions for the Lennon / Ono album Milk And Honey before it was cut short upon Lennon’s tragic death in 1980. Douglas was the last person he saw, departing each other that evening with “See You In The Morning.” Today, Jack Douglas continues to work with established and rising talent, as well as sharing his wisdom with the next generation of music producers / engineers at speaking engagements. His expertise has earned him an Emmy Award (Best Music Written For Children’s Show - ABC “Over 7” After School Special), an induction into the NAMM Technical Hall Of Fame, several Lifetime Achievement Awards (including the LA Music Hall of Fame, and The Institute of Audio Research), and an honorary doctorate from Five Towns College. With his keen ear for bringing out the best of a musician’s sound, Jack Douglas stands as a vital figure in the creation of rock’s most important music. Jack was our guest in Chicago in 2018 and his stories and images were absolutely amazing. You could hear a pin drop in the Main Ballroom! We are delighted to welcome Jack to his first ever NY METRO FEST.

Blac RabbitIn Concert on Saturday and Sunday
In Concert on Saturday and Sunday
Consisting of identical twin brothers Amiri and Rahiem Taylor, drummer Patrick Jones, bassist/guitarist Josh Lugo, and Justin Jagbir (keys), Blac Rabbit -- who made their Fest debut in 2018 before their appearance on The Ellen Degeneres show -- will be in concert on the main stage on Saturday and the Apple Jam stage on Sunday. The guys will also be joining Liverpool during the jam at Saturday night's concert. Amiri and Rahiem taught themselves how to play guitar and write songs based on The Beatles. They later formed Blac Rabbit. Tired of working boring grocery store jobs, Amiri and Rah started performing Beatles covers on the NYC subway, slowly building a reputation around the city while also performing their original material with the full band in New York's best venues for up and coming acts. On December 23rd, 2017, the band released their debut self-titled EP, which was also self recorded and self mixed. The Taylor twins wrote all of the songs, and recorded every instrument on the EP, except for a few songs on which Jones played drums. In January of 2018, Rah and Amiri were filmed performing Beatles songs on the train. One of the videos went viral, generating over 25M streams, leading to numerous TV and radio appearances, including The Ellen Degeneres Show. The band also recorded a cover of “Michelle” by the The Beatles for a Gucci ad campaign featuring Harry Styles. Meanwhile Blac Rabbit has been touring globally and recording their debut full length album titled “Interstella,” set for release in spring 2019. The first single from the album, "Seize the Day" was released on November 19th, 2018 while the band was on their first European tour.

A personal message from Bob: Get Back to where you once belonged! After a two year sabbatical, it’s time for me to “get back to where I once belonged” and that place is the Fest for Beatles Fans. I am very grateful to Mark and Carol Lapidos for leaving the door open for me to return. I am so happy to announce that my shows will be a part of the 45th Anniversary of Fest for Beatles Fans in 2019. I will be premiering a new Beatles character that can only be described as a “real mixer” plus a special surprise new act that will be performed throughout the fest. I have seen many photos and comments on Facebook about how many miss me and my shows. This made me realize I made a positive impact on so many and that I am truly loved. I can’t wait to return and visit with each and every one of my Beatles family in New Jersey and Chicago, I too love you all. Peace in the neighborhood, Bob Abdou/Mr.Puppet
