December 8, 1980 – The saddest day on the Beatles calendar. John Lennon was assassinated in front of his home on West 72nd Street in NYC. The world literally stopped for a week. As Elton John sang, in his tribute to John, “Empty Garden” – “A gardener like that one, no one can replace”. It is still a difficult day for fans to get through, but listening to his music and thinking of all the love he gave the world definitely helps. Very few people who have ever walked the face of this Earth have become as well known and loved as John, Paul, George, & Ringo. The positive influence they have had still affects every day life. Their message of Peace and Love is very powerful and to see younger people getting the message is very heartwarming. Long Live The Beatles!
All You Need is Love.

The man was the best and always will be the best may his killer rot in hell
Very true about it being a difficult day. Other than the birth of my 2 children, John’s death in such a brutal manner hurt a lot of us right to our souls.
I will play some music of his and remember what he still stands for!
John Lennon was a great musician and all he wanted was peace. He has his peace now, but we all miss him and what could of been. But, his music lives on forever and ever! RIP John!
My 14-year old daughter discovered the Beatles’ music a couple of years ago, and quickly became a fan of John Lennon. His message of love and peace has touched her deeply. What an amazing thing; his message transcends generations. Maybe we will see peace one day.
Iill always remember John Lennon, not only on this very sad anniversary, but every day of the year; and what him and his music meant to an entire generation, and beyond.
“Close your eyes and I’ll kiss you.
Tomorrow I’ll miss you.”

John was the person who influenced me to study music and become a musician and teacher! My student’s just love his music and that of the Beatles. I am always very sad on this day, and keep wondering what new songs/music would have come from this creative genius.

John will always be in our hearts! His music, talent and love will always live on for ever!
I was 14 years old, a freshan in high school when the news came over the radio… A sad, most devistating day… But the music – and the message – live on! Now, John gets to rock with Buddy, Elvis, Jimi and now George in the greatest band in the sky… Peace.
John was my favorite beatle. That nut case that murdered him should rot in prison
As I have felt with others I’ve lost, I always remember the good times and memories and take a moment to reflect.
All we are saying is Give Peace A Chance.
If ever there was a TRUE Ambassador for Peace it was John. The man gave us so much, and we owe it to his legacy to continue the Push for Peace. He molded himself and three other band mates into the worlds most recognized and popular musicians, and changed the musical industry forever. He is a force that is sorely missed each and every day! Much Love John!
