    Of The Monkees

What a thrill it is to welcome Micky Dolenz back to the Chicago FEST! Micky was one of the Monkees and their lead singer on hits like Last Train to Clarksville, I’m A Believer, and Pleasant Valley Sunday. The Monkees TV show began in 1966 as a loving parallel tribute to The Beatles. It turned out to be bigger than anyone expected and their albums sold millions. Micky wrote the Monkees song, Randy Scouse Git, which had a direct Beatles reference in it. Micky and the other Monkees met The Beatles and he hung out quite a bit with John Lennon and Harry Nilsson in the early 1970s. Micky is a great entertainer and storyteller and is excited about appearing in front of thousands of Beatles Fans. Micky loves The Beatles and he is looking forward to performing some Beatles songs on Friday and Saturday evening.
