Neil InnesMusician, Comedian, Actor
Musician, Comedian, ActorThe 7th Python is joining us again this spring! We’re thrilled to have Neil back -- a Rutle to the bone, Neil wrote all the music for All You Need Is Cash (celebrating 40 years since its release!) -- and was inspired by the response to him at his first FEST so much so that he went back to the vaults to compete The Rutles Archaeology album. He’s the musical writer for much of Monty Python, he’s worked with Paul McCartney to produce I’m The Urban Spaceman, was a member of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, and we love him. This is Neil's first scheduled appearance in 9 years, although he did make a surprise unannounced appearance at our NYC 2014 FEST. You won't want to miss his 'talks' as they will likely include some of his musical gems, both old and new. Of course, a FEST with Neil would not be complete without some serious Rutling backed by Liverpool.
Peter AsherOf Peter & Gordon
Of Peter & Gordon
DON'T MISS FRIDAY NIGHT! Peter has come up with a new and exciting kind of event for the Friday evening to kick things off and to quickly establish the spirit of collaboration, creativity, curiosity and joy for which the FEST is famous. He will combine a conversation with all of the musical guests with a few acoustic performances and plenty of audience participation to get the weekend off to a fun, enthusiastic and surprising start. We are calling it Peter Asher and Friends All Together Now! Peter has attended numerous FESTS over the past 12 years, and we are thrilled he is joining us in 2018. Beatles fans and SiriusXM subscribers are listening to The Beatles Channel 18 in huge numbers and one of the most popular shows is Peter Asher: From Me To You, in which Peter takes the listeners on a different musical journey each week and we never know in what direction he will go. We do know he begins every show with a Peter & Gordon song. A new show airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET and is repeated at other times over the next four days.
Randy BachmanOf The Guess Who and BTO
Of The Guess Who and BTO
Canadian rock icon Randy Bachman stands in rarefied air as one of a very exclusive handful of artists who have topped the charts in two different bands: American Woman with The Guess Who and You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet as leader and singer with Bachman-Turner Overdrive. In a career spanning over five decades Randy has earned over 120 platinum, gold and silver records. As host of the top-rated CBC and Sirius XM radio program Vinyl Tap his listeners worldwide number in the millions. Now the classic rock legend is paying tribute to an early mentor, hero and inspiration. By George is a personal nod to George Harrison, offering Randy’s distinctive hard-rock guitar-driven interpretations of Harrison’s finest recorded work. By George By Bachman: From One Guitar Great to Another. The album will be released in the first quarter of 2018 and Randy will be performing one or two of his songs from the new album at the FEST, with Liverpool. Randy was a member of Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band in the 1990s. In recent years, he has done an exhaustive analysis of that first chord in A Hard Day’s Night. We are thrilled and honored to have Randy join us for the first time (Sunday only).
Billy J. KramerBritish Invasion Star
Billy J. Kramer
British Invasion Star
Legends are hard to come by, but Billy J. is one of them. We are delighted to welcome him back to our stage. On Saturday, Billy will be presenting a new show based on his own unique observations. To Liverpool With Love: The British Invasion Through the Eyes and Ears of Billy J. Kramer. Billy was an integral part of that invasion, grew up in the Liverpool music scene and toured extensively with The Beatles before and during Beatlemania. Where did the seeds come from that created this environment? In the show, through songs and stories, Billy tells it like it was. Our MC Ken Dashow will help guide the journey that should give us all a new appreciation and understanding of that time and place. On Sunday, Billy is bringing his amazing band back (including the one and only Liberty Devitto on drums) for an Afternoon Concert featuring some new songs mixed in with his classics. One of only two artists to have four songs written for them by Lennon/McCartney (Peter & Gordon was the other). Billy took Do You Want To Know A Secret to # 1 in the UK, knocking the Beatles out of the top spot! Other hits by Billy include Bad To Me, I'll Keep You Satisfied, and From A Window. His latest album, I Won The Fight, was produced and written mostly by Billy - a career first. With a song called To Liverpool With Love, Billy helped lead the charge that got his former manager Brian Epstein inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few years ago. He will be talking about Liverpool (his hometown) and the 60s at the FEST, and will be having signing sessions all weekend.

Beatles Hairdresser 1967-75
Anything the lads did with their hair, the world followed. Have you ever wondered what it might have been like to be The Beatles’ hairstylist in the late 60s? No it’s not Billy Shears… it’s the one and only Leslie Cavendish and he’s sure to share some fabulous story stylings about his time with John, Paul, George and Ringo from 1967 - 1975, and being part of their iconic transformations. He spent time in the recording studio with The Beatles and was even invited to join them on their Magical Mystery Tour. The US edition of his new book, The Cutting Edge, will be premiered at The Fest. We welcome Leslie, who still resides in London, to his very first FEST.

Legendary Duo In Concert
Together For The First Time As A Duo! The two separate halves of the two most popular British Invasion duos from the 1960s together at last! The FEST has been fortunate to have presented Peter & Gordon, Chad & Jeremy and (two years ago) even Peter, Chad & Jeremy on the same bill. Well, Chad has now retired, and Peter and Jeremy are teaming up together for a brand new show, exchanging reminiscences about the London music scene of that time, great songs and great artists of the period (including the Beatles of course) and so much more. They will be performing many of their hits and discussing their extraordinary, multifaceted and peripatetic careers. This performance will be divided into two parts, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Charles RobertsTook first photo of John Lennon and The Quarrymen
Took first photo of John Lennon and The Quarrymen
As Charles recalls: When the Quarrymen agreed to play at my street party in 1957, nobody in Toxteth had heard of them. Little did any of us know that they would eventually evolve into the greatest band in the world –- The Beatles. The lads came from the more affluent Woolton and the surrounding area, and they were all aware of Toxteths 'rough' reputation, but to their credit, they all turned up. What happened then is well documented, and this first-ever photo of John and his Quarrymen captured a moment in time that can never be repeated. I have a limited number of photos hand signed by the three active Quarrymen, Colin Hanton, Len Garry and Rod Davis, and I will also sign them at The Fest. Stock is limited and once they are gone I may never be able to secure the signatures of the Quarrymen again.
Charles will also be premiering his book, Just Like Starting Over, at the FEST. It is about hih time as a friend of John and the Quarrymen in their teens. Some parties, some gigs, times at the Cavern, St. Peters, Strawberry Field, and pubs they frequented at the time even though they were under age. Charles tried to include stories that have not been told before, but also to correct a few. Most of it is first hand from his memory and did not need researching. There are photos, some new ones, and he is thrilled to launch it at the FEST.Charles will be sharing his memories of that very earliest musical moment of a timeline that led to....well, we all know the rest!
